A 4th MD can also be inserted into the unit, for a total of 16 CD's worth of audio when recorded in LP4 mode, however with the 4th disc inserted the RJ-480 acts in a player only mode, and this 4th disc must be removed in order to activate the changer functions of the player.
In modes other than MD, the speaker output from the center unit is input to operate the spectrum analyzer. With input level adjustment
