MD-ST631 comes with Kanji capable remote for JPY 38,000. The remote model# was AD-S53RM which had an MSRP of 7,500 yen. The standard remote with clock functionality was model# AD-S31RM - MSRP 7,500 yen.

Uses Sharp's 3rd generation LSI (hardware not atrac encoder) with a 0.25 μm process.
